Frequently Asked Questions

What is being done about the recent weeds in the lake?
The lake association does not have any authority to treat or control the weeds. However, we did work with Kieser & Associates, Environmental Science and Engineering from Kalamazoo who mapped the aquatic plants in the lake. The report found that we have little, if any, invasive plants. Most are native to the lake and are good for the eco-system and fishing. Recent weed growth may be due to a number of factors: increase in the number of sunny days, lack of lake ice over the winter, and a decrease in boat activity. The association will continue to monitor the weeds for future examination and report back on any findings.

“Does the Lake Association provide a fireworks display for the 4th of July?”
The Lake Association does not provide funding for a fireworks show and does not provide donations for fireworks. However, lake residents are welcome to have fireworks shows of their own. They are always a blast and enjoyed by all. In years past, the point on Avery Road and the “Campground” have had dramatic displays. Thank you to those who contribute to this celebration!
